Prepare a go-or-hold record
List the donation-page owner, payment-account owner, communication reviewer and person authorized to approve launch. Confirm the intended campaign, currency, processor and contact route through the organization’s approved process. Mark any eligibility, access or contract question unresolved rather than treating a working page as approval. This guide is an original readiness framework for a nonprofit’s team. It does not authorize this publication or an individual volunteer to activate payment collection, alter a live account or move money.
Use the documented test mode for its actual purpose
4aGoodCause documents a test mode that simulates a donation or registration without charging a card or recording the transaction in reports. Its guidance also says a page left in test mode cannot accept real donations. Those are different readiness states. Have the authorized team follow the current official procedure and record which mode was used. A successful simulation is evidence about that simulated path, not proof of settlement, recurring collection, payout eligibility or every future acknowledgment.
Check the reader-facing journey separately
Review the visible page on desktop and mobile: organization identity, campaign explanation, frequency labels, contact route and important limitations. Confirm that links lead to the intended organization and that someone can reach help without guessing. Inspect the communication setup through its approved process, distinguishing a template from a delivered message. Do not make an unnecessary live gift as a substitute for missing verification. If a real financial test is required by the organization, it needs its own explicit authorization and provider-compliant procedure.
Assign each unresolved requirement an owner
A useful readiness record says what passed, the evidence type, the reviewer and the remaining dependency. A fictional case may have a readable page and successful simulation but no confirmed payment-account readiness; the launch decision remains held with its owner. After an authorized launch, operational monitoring should follow the nonprofit’s established process, not a promise from this checklist. Keep the failed-gift, receipt and reconciliation routes available to the next person. Readiness is a point-in-time decision, not a guarantee that no incident will occur.
